As previously announced, Newmarket Baseball Association announced that the house league program has been cancelled , but the door was left open to hold practices or a development program subject to Provincial, Municipal, OBA, YSBA and NBA guidelines.
Where does that leave us?
Where does that leave us?
(1) Diamonds / Permits - The NBA is actively working with the Town to secure permits for specific diamonds and batting cages. We understand that some players are anxious to get out on the field. We are trying to expedite the process, but do ask for everyone's patience. Once we are able to secure permits, we will begin scheduling times.
(2) Insurance / Waivers - As per Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) every participant must sign a waiver. This includes coaches, umpires, players. There is a parental waiver for players under 18. I have attached copies of the waiver for adults and for participants under 18 years of age. All waivers would have to be submitted to Newmarket Baseball prior to any member participating in any event. I have also attached a copy of the Declaration of Compliance as well.

(5) Game Play / Scrimmages - Depending on when regions are opened to Stage 3, and assuming that game play will be allowed, the NBA, YSBA and OBA are looking at the possibility of exhibition games and/or development programs. This will be a topic for upcoming meetings for each level. These might be at the NBA level (Major vs Minor year, AA vs A, A vs Select, etc.) or between associations (i.e. vs Aurora, Richmond Hill, etc.). There may still be a possibility of some form fall ball games.
(6) Refunds - We are still processing full refunds for house league players. If there are any further programs available, you will need to register again. Notifications will go out to players with updates as they are available.
