2025 FAQ

When does registration open for the 2025 Season?

Registration for 2025 will begin in January 2025 for all House League players.


What division will my child play in this year?

What is the cost? 

House League Fees for the 2025 are outlined below:
Early Bird Fee ends February 28th, 11:59pm
Regular Fee from March 1 to April 30th, 11:59pm
Late fee applies after May 1st

Three or more players in the same family qualify for a $50 discount on the third and subsequent registrations. (Email admin@newmarketbaseball.com for the code)


Will there be a Junior Division for players over 19?

Unfortunately, due to low registration for this divsion Newmarket Baseball will not be offering a Junior Division. 


How do I register?

To Register Online:  Click on the "Register HERE" button. 
The registration deadline is April 30th.  After this date the fee increases and players may be placed on a waitlist. Register early to guarantee a place for your child/children!! 

 

What’s included in registration?

In addition to all practices and games, each player receives a team jersey, a baseball cap, a team photo and an individual photo, and end of season award. 

 

What’s the registration deadline?

The registration deadline is April 30th.  Players who register after April 30th or for a division that is full,  will be placed on a waiting list. 

 

What equipment do I need?

Players need grey baseball pants (T-ball players can wear any long athletic pants), running shoes or cleats, a baseball glove, a batting helmet and an athletic cup (boys only). (Players in T-ball to 13U must have c-flap or a chin strap on the helmet) 

Optional items include a baseball bat, batting gloves, and catcher's equipment. (Every team will have access to catcher's equipment but players are welcome to bring their own)

 

How will I know which team my child plays on?

You will receive an email with team information and a schedule following the evalution days

 

Which days will my child have games?

Please note that some weeks there will be games on both days. This year there will be no weekend practices during the summer break.  Weekend practices have been added for May and June only.  All practices and games will take place during the days listed below (18U still includes Sunday games)  The final championship games will take place in August.  All teams will participate in playoffs.

**Note that the 13U division will only have 8:45 games on a needed basis for rainouts.  There will not be able late games scheduled during the school months for this division.

 

Will there be games and/or practices on long weekends or stat holidays?

No, games are not scheduled on long weekend or stat holidays. 

 

Where are the games played?

House League Games are played in Newmarket at various diamonds.  You can find maps to our diamonds HERE.

 

When is opening day?

Opening day is scheduled for Saturday May 10, 2025


When will playoffs take place?

T-ball closing ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday July 30, 2025
7U to 15U playoffs will be scheduled August 9-10th/August 16/17th.
18U playoffs are scheduled the last two weeks of August.

 

Can I request a specific coach or team? Can I request that my child to be on the same team as another player?

There are new rules this year for player requests. 

T-Ball: Players can request multiple friends and can request a specifi coach.

7U-13U: Players can request ONE friend only using the link provided during registration.  The other player must also submit a matching request.  Players cannot request a specific coach or team (coach's children will be placed on their team).  Players cannot request a specific team/sponsor.  (Sponsor's children will be automatically placed on the team and can request one friend as set out above).

15U-18U:  Players can request up to 4 friends and can also request a coach/team.  Priority remains on balancing teams.

Requests can be submitted during registration using the link provided on the registration form.  Please do not submit friend requests in the "Special Requests" second.  Please note that not all requests can be guaranteed. 

 

Where do I find information on diamond closures and cancelled games?

To find the status of the diamonds either check the Newmarket Baseball website for updates or call 1-877-PLAY936 (1-877-752-9936) ext 1

 

What should I do if a problem occurs with a coach, player or parent at the field?

Hopefully this does not happen but if any conflicts arise please notify the league in WRITING by emailing admin@newmarketbaseball.com.  You are encouraged to follow the 24 Hour Rule.  This means waiting 24 hours before filing a complaint to give yourself time to cool off. 

 

What if my game is rained out?

All attempts will be made to reschedule games that have been rained out subject to diamond availability.
 

Can I request a refund?

Refunds shall be given, less a 20% administration fee, if requested prior to May 31st 
Refunds shall be given, less a 50% administration fee, if requested between June 1st and June 30th.
Refunds shall not be given after June 30th.  However, in the event of an injury the Director of Registration will review each individual case
All player refund requests should be directed to the Director of Registration.  
NSF cheques will be subject to a handling charge of $45.00.
