Vulnerable Sector Check Instructions
All Volunteers, Coaches and Assistant Coaches for Houseleague, Rep, Select and Elite are required to have an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check. (VSC). If you live in York Region you can apply in person or online. Online applications can be processed fairly quickly using the new identification verification method. Volunteers are eligible for a reduced fee.

If you are not able to use the verification method during the online application you will be emailed instructions on how to pick up your completed police check. You will need to take proof of id as well as a letter from Newmarket Baseball confirming you are a volunteer.

Important Information to remember:
- The official name of the check is “Vulnerable Sector Check” or VSC
- All rep/select/elite coaches and assistant coaches are required to have an updated VSC
- Only House League head coaches are required to have an updated VSC.
- Newmarket Baseball considers a VSC valid for three seasons from the date it is issued.
- Offence Declarations/Attestations are completed by all volunteers every calendar year except the year in which the VSC was obtained.
- You MUST print off and bring a letter from Newmarket Baseball to have the fees reduced. The link to print the letter is above. This letter also waives the fee if fingerprints are required.
