There were 8 teams competing for the championship title. Newmarket's Best Eclat won the fist game against Pickering Double V Contracting with a score of 7-1. Another win against Hamilton Mahoney Park with a score of 9-8 and a third win against Vaughan Best Western with a score of 13-0.
The three wins awarded them 1st in their division and advancement into the semi-final round against Hamilton West Mountain. Hamilton was able to take the lead at the beginning of the game leaving Newmarket struggling to catch up with a final score of 12-8. Coach Bryan Edwards took the loss with a smile and a congratulations to the other coach. There were some amazing plays at bat with singles by Ian S, Matthew M and Nate C, doubles by Charlie M, Ben T and Dalton C, triples by Bradley E and Hunter I and an amazing home run hit by Eric L! We also had some fantastic defense by short stop Adam G, basemen Eric L, Dalton C and Hunter I, and a double play by 2nd basemen Bradley E who caught a pop fly and tagged out the runner at his base.
