Minor Bantam AAA Hawks win Aurora-King tournament

2016 Newmarket Minor Bantam AAA Hawks
The Newmarket Minor Bantam AAA Hawks, sponsored by Royal Containers, won the Aurora-King tournament on Father's Day weekend.
After a disappointing extra inning loss in the final of the Oshawa Spring Showdown earlier this season, the Minor Bantam AAA Hawks bounced back to go 5-0 on Father's Day weekend and capture the Aurora-King tournament title.
The Hawks opened the tournament with wins over Aurora, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan. In the semi-final, the Hawks edged East York 2-1 in a well-pitched and defended game by both teams. In the championship final, the Hawks broke open a 3-3 game vs. Vaughan and won 9-3.
