2011 Junior Rookie Champions - Pet Paradise
Congratulations to the 2011 Junior Rookie Champions - Pet Paradise! The team took home the winning trophy after a very close game against The Tile Shoppe with a score of 36-35 with two extra innings! See full story...
Both teams played their best and finished at at tie in the third inning. The score was 21-21 pushing them into a fourth inning for a tie-breaker. The Tile Shoppe came on strong with excellent players hitting a couple of doubles and even a triple by Carter! Pet Paradise was taking up a good defense with a pop fly caught by Maddox and a ball being stopped in the infield by Nathan who stood in front of the ball and stopped it with his chest! Tile Shoppe scored 7 runs.
Pet Paradise retaliated during their at bat with nearly everybody hitting and gaining 7 runs as well tying the inning again as the last batter, Matthew, crossed the plate nearly the same time the catcher did and was called "out". The score was 28-28 at the bottom of the fourth.
The fifth inning began with Tile Shoppe at bat and again. They were able to score 7 runs again. Pet Paradise took their turn at bat. The inning was coming to an end with a score of 35-35 as Pet Paradise neared the end of their batting line up. WIth only one player, Justin, on 2nd base, the last batter took his place at the plate. The ball was hit into the field giving Justin time to make it home safely with a slide into home plate giving Pet Paradise the winning run! The final score was 36-35!
