Congratulations to Newmarket 11U Select Hawks and 13U Select Hawks, Champions in Hamilton!
Hawks Score Dual Golds In Hamilton!
Sunday June 9th, two Newmarket Hawks teams (11U Select and 13U Select) won the gold medals for their respective age groups at the West Mountain Baseball Association Select tournament in Hamilton, ON. Interestingly, both teams faced-off against the Guelph Royals in the Championship game and both Hawks teams had lost to the Royals in the round robin portion of the weekend.
The 11U Team led for the entire championship game, playing stellar defence behind excellent pitching, winning 7-2. The 13U Team mounted a tremendous 7th inning comeback to walk-it-off in dramatic fashion 11-10.
Great weekend for baseball. Great weekend for the Hawks!
