Ryan Dale pitched a five-hit shutout and Adam Tunney highlighted a three-run rally in the third inning with a bases loaded two-run double as the Newmarket Hawks lassoed the Wyoming Cowboys 8-0 Sunday evening in the final of the Stratford Indians junior baseball tournament.
Tunney blooped a double down the right field line to break open a 1-0 Newmarket lead and a throwing error on the play accounted for the other run in the inning.
The Hawks added four more runs in the sixth inning to seal the victory.Garrett Davies, Rob Marsiglio and Ryan Pontone each doubled and singled for Newmarket.
After posted a 2-1 round-robin record, including a 1-0 loss to Wyoming, Newmarket outlasted the Southwest London Scorpions 8-6 in the semifinals.

Catcher Tyler Cattapan belted a two-run home run to highlight a four-run first inning outburst as the Newmarket Hawks rolled to a 12-2 rout of the Royal York Cardinals in Toronto Baseball Association junior division action Wednesday night at McKnight Field.
Cattapan also hit two singles and drove in four runs for the 3-1 Hawks.
John Bethune chipped in with three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

Righthander Josh Baldassarra pitched seven shutout innings as Rob Marsiglio and Tyler Cattapan had three hits each to pace the Newmarket Hawks to a 9-0 rout of the East York Bulldogs in Toronto Baseball Association junior division action Friday night in East York.
 
The was the fifth straight for Newmarket, now 5-1 in league play and 9-2 overall.
 
Baldassarra struck out nine Bulldogs' batters and allowed just three hits. Marsiglio counted a triple among his three hits.

Mon.  8 ... vs. Pickering Red Sox, McKnight, 7:30 p.m.
First baseman Ryan Dale drove in four runs with three hits, including two doubles, as the Newmarket Hawks held off the Pickering Red Sox for a 7-5 victory Monday night in Toronto Baseball Association junior action at McKnight Field.
Dale's two-run double highlighted a four-run outburst for the Hawks in the fourth inning and broke open a 1-0 Newmarket lead.
Righthander Travis Welder struck out eight Red Sox hitters and scattered six hits over seven innings to pick up the win.
