#3Peat #1seed | Bluebombers roll into Championship Weekend as Favourites at Vegas Books

2014-08-01

Bling baby. Bling. Word to your mother.

Iconic Coach Tim relaxing at his home with Championship Hardware

NEWMARKET - It's not often that one gets a chance at Greatness.  But Greatness has been achieved.  It's even less often that one becomes Legendary.  But Legendary Status has been obtained.  So what can we in the Newmarket Minor Baseball Media call what Coach Tim is on the verge of accomplishing?

"Yeah, it's kinda tough to describe, eh?  I mean, really, 3 in a row.  Who does that?  Hashtag 3peat," said Coach Tim while making the well-known twitter "hashtag" symbol with the index and middle fingers of both hands.  "And then, to be going into Championship Weekend as the favourite again?  Hashtag 1seed.  I mean, it's pretty awe-inspiring, even for me, and I'm the Coach who's doing it."

Coach Tim pursed his lips in front of the mirror, then alternately kissed both trophies before continuing.

"Often times, I ask myself, what would Vanilla Ice do?  I think Vanilla Ice would call this a state of Word-To-Your-Motherness.  That's what I'm shooting for.  Word-To-Your-Motherness.  Hashtag kickitonetimeboy."

Coach Tim then displayed his legendary spreadsheets, famously emblazoned with the rules of defensive positioning that no other coach seems to know, but accuses him of breaking regularly all the same.  He regaled the assembled media with tales of R.J. only getting a triple when he needed a Grand Slam 2 seasons ago, and Luke's snaring of a line-drive at 1st base that turned into a double-play, leading to last year's last inning comeback.  He was then asked what contributes to his success.

"Oh, right, this is the point in the interview where I thank some mentor or say I couldn't have done it without the kids, right?  Yeah, that's a pile of horse-caca.  Hashtag keepingitreal.  You give me any 12 snot-nosed little brats and I'll outcoach every other parent in this league."

The #1 seed TRG Bluebombers face the winner of the #4/#5 game (Fully Completely vs. Smilemakers) at 12 noon on Saturday, August 9th at Fairgrounds #2.  Assuming they win, the Rookie Championship Final is at 4 pm at the same park.  Good seats are still available for both games.
