Bluebombers are 8 and 1, looking to win Regular Season Championship
2014-07-04Monday's game vs. Quaker Hill will decide things...
NEWMARKET - The TRG Bluebombers go into the final game of the regular season with a chance to be the Regular Season Champions. TRG plays Quaker Hill on Monday evening at Bayview #2.
"Yeah, we won those last 2 games to go to 8 and 1, so I figure our game against 9 and 0 Quaker Hill is for the Grand Championship of the Universe," said Coach Tim poolside while sipping a margarita. "I kinda feel like we had a bullseye on us all year, so winning on Monday night would be sweet."
The Bluebombers practice on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on Bayview #1.
"We're going to work on ground balls and batting at practice. By this point in the year, there's not much else the coaching staff can do other than get in a lot of reps. This team has really surprised me and the rest of the league, I think. We had quite a few new ballplayers and quite a few players who showed a lot of improvement. Just goes to show you how awesome a coach I am...way better than all the other teams' coaches...way better."
Plenty of good seats are still available for Monday's game.
